Demi Lovato (born August 20, 1992 in Dallas, Texas, full name Demetria Devonne Lovato) is an American actress and singer with Spanish, Italian and Irish ancestry. Their previously known role was that of Mitchie Torres in the Disney Channel Original Movie Camp Rock as well as in the five-minute series As the Bell Rings as Charlotte Adams in the series "Sonny with a Chance" as Sonny Munroe.

Demi Lovato has two sisters. Her five year old sister, Dallas Lovato, who is also an actress and singer as well as a ten-year younger step-sister named Madison, the fifth in the Season of Desperate Housewives plays the daughter of Gabrielle and Carlos Solis. Her mother (born Spaniard), Deana Lovato, was active as a teenager with the Dallas Cowboys as a cheerleader. Demi Lovato attended the Grapevine-Colleyville Independent School.

Her first appearance was at the age of ten, when she in the children's series Barney and Friends (Original: Barney & Friends) worked. Her singing talent was also encouraged. 2006 she starred in the television series Prison Break and in Just Jordan 2007 guest roles. In the same year she starred in the first season of the Disney series As the Bell Rings. Her breakthrough achieved with the Disney Channel movie Camp Rock, where they played alongside Joe Jonas of the starring role. She has with her best friend Selena Gomez and the Jonas Brothers, web shows on YouTube.

On 29 May 2009 came the movie Princess Protection Program with her and Selena Gomez in the lead roles on Disney Channel.

In the series, she plays Sonny Munroe, the main role. The first broadcast took place on 8 February 2009 in the USA on Disney Channel, the German-speaking Episode 29 May 2009 also on Disney Channel. In June 2009 it was confirmed that there will be a second season of Sonny with a Chance. Filming began in November 2009.
